Day 78: April 3, 2023
🎶 hello, it’s me 🎶
Back at it after another short break. I’m haven’t figured out yet how to keep up on this project when shoots arise—my whole life seems in service of them while they’re happening. But I’m working on it! Focusing on improving processes this year, trying to find equilibrium with work and life that has, as yet, eluded me. I’ll get there, though. 😊
I’m increasingly unsure of what to call this project, or what it will really be. I still imagine myself finding the requisite balance to do it every single day, but I’m giving myself space when that doesn’t happen. Maybe one day I’ll get there and this will mutate into something like a 435 project—365 days with a rather long and patchy preamble—or maybe I’ll just keep doing it when I can and it will be 366 self-portraits shot loosely in successive order. The daily part gives me the impetus I need to create, though, and even when on hiatus I’m thinking about the project, so murkily I shall tread on. 😊
Here are my hands with some leftover fabric from my last client shoot, with a phone procured long ago in service of a project I’ve yet to start, with lyrics from a song used in a melancholy call in a film I hold very dear.
